The company operates as a subsidiary of Japan Post Holdings and provides life insurance products through post offices and directory managed stores. The Insurance premiums amounted to ¥6,856 billion (US$82.74 billion) at March 31, 2012. AXA Group, a French global insurer, is the second largest insurance company in the world and the largest insurer in Europe. AXA serves over 100 million clients globally and is engaged in property-casualty insurance, life insurance, savings, and asset management. Metlife is the only US insurer to rank among the top five largest insurers.
